Students on hand to support marathon runners
Senior Lecturer, Cassie Oddy and Leeds Met students with former England and Leeds Utd footballer Danny Mills
Thirty students on BSc (Hons) and MSc Physiotherapist and Sports Therapist courses spent the day working closely alongside chartered physiotherapists and Directors Alison Rose and Graham Everard from Coach House Physiotherapy Clinic to provide post- event massage to the runners of the inaugural race in support of the Jane Tomlinson Appeal.
Alison said: "We really appreciated the hard work and the professional attitude of all of the students, and enjoyed working with them. It would not have been possible for us to support such a large number of athletes without the back up of such a large team."
Senior Lecturer in Physiotherapy, Cassie Oddy, added: "Being involved in such an event gave our students an insight into the physical and mental demands which are placed on the body when competing in endurance events such as this. Mike Tomlinson and his team have welcomed the suggestion of our students providing more regular support during the Jane Tomlinson Appeal race calendar."
