State and Institutional Violence
The research cluster examines the effects of state and institutional violence in 6 areas.
The prison (Britain and Norway); reproductive & abortion rights (India); Channel crossings & the prosecution of smugglers / asylum captains (global & local); women’s circles, Red Tents & politics of care; antisocial behaviour interventions within housing and welfare provision; dynamics of power and dignity.
Projects
This cluster is formed of 6 participants across criminology and sociology at Leeds Beckett and an external associate professor from the Institute of Technology Patna, India. The six are Priyanka Tripathi, Bevis McNeil, Darren Nixon, Madeleine Castro, Kirsty Cameron and Maria De Angelis. Between them, they have a wealth of past projects.
