Mimi Hadley

I am currently a student at Leeds Beckett University studying Architectural Technology in my second year. I am also currently looking for a year long placement for my third year.

From a young age I was always interested in engineering and architecture. I loved building structures out of Lego and building houses for my toys. I am really interested in modern architecture and minimalist design. In college I really enjoyed studying Maths and 3D Product Design. I chose to study Architectural Technology at university as I was torn between Architecture and Civil Engineering then I found this course which was the best of both worlds.

I have really enjoyed my time studying this subject and learning about how buildings are constructed from start to finish, learning how to read plans, using software such as Revit, Lumion, InDesign and Photoshop, and designing our own buildings. I am looking forward to expanding my knowledge of everything to do with this profession.

In the future, I would like to work either in the UK or in a French speaking country, such as Canada, France or Switzerland, as French is my second language and I would love to be able to speak it more often. I would also like to own my own practice one day, once I become chartered.

Outside of university I enjoy travelling to different countries to learn about their culture, I have always enjoyed learning about this from a young age. I am passionate about art and spend most of my spare time either drawing, painting or taking photos.
