Lucy Ashton - 3D Modelling

I am currently a second-year Architectural technology student studying at Leeds Beckett university about to start my placement year where I will learn new software and develop my experience in the construction industry. I am a confident person who works well individually and in a team. I am enthusiastic, hardworking, and confident. When designing projects my main inspiration is brought by sustainability and how I can create a more sustainable space.

I have always had an interest in the construction industry from a young age when helping my dad in the drawing room. This is where my passion began. I have developed many skills starting at school where I studied construction that formed the foundation to my studies. When furthering my education at college I studied Art and Textiles where the construction of building was at the heart of the designs created.

Alongside studying I have had a part time job where I have developed many transferrable skills which will help myself in the work environment. Over the five years I have worked I have become part of the management team which comes with lots of responsibility. My part time employment shows the self-discipline I have when studying and the drive to succussed in the industry.

Outside the world of construction, I have many hobbies that I enjoy in my personal time. These consist of the gym, long walks, fashion, and dance. My interest have helped widen my skills in different aspects. It helps me keep a clear open mind when faced with any task.

While studying at Leeds Beckett University I have developed an open mind in my research to help work around obstacles when carrying out my designs. In the future after graduating, I plan to become a Chartered member of CIAT the professional body for Architectural technology.
