Alice teaches across all levels of BSC Social Justice and Recovery (SCJR) and BA Working With Children, Young People and Families (WwCYPF). She is Level 6 lead for SCJR and also teaches on BA Social Work.

Alice's main areas of teaching are:

  • Sociology and Social Policy and how applicable to practice
  • Relationship based practice and Social Pedagogical principles
  • Social Justice, Social Divisions and Inequalities
  • Professional Values
  • Supporting people with precarious Immigration status and supporting people living with HIV

Alice is a qualified social worker registered with Social Work England. Previous to becoming a lecturer Alice was a social work supporting children and families.

Alice started lecturing in 2010 at UCLan and came to Leeds Beckett in 2019. She is a HEA Fellow.

Alice is co author of Cunningham, J. Cunningham S. and O'Sullivan, A (2023) Sociology and Social Work, 3rd Edition, Learning Matters, Exeter. She is currently working on a new edition of a social policy and social work book.
