About

As Postgraduate Officer and Governor, Faisal's priority is to improve the areas that matter most to students: employability, housing, and access to part-time work. Having previously served as a course representative, Faisal has listened to many students share their struggles, and now aims to bring that same level of commitment to the entire student body.

Faisal sees real potential in the Leeds Beckett app. While currently underused, it could be developed into a central hub for student life, such as connecting users to jobs, housing support, community events, and wellbeing services. In addition, he believes that community organising is essential. Stronger communities create a stronger university, and Faisal is determined to ensure that students, particularly postgraduates and internationals, feel connected, supported, and able to thrive.

With a background as a master’s student in Medical Biochemistry and over six years of teaching experience, Faisal brings both academic insight and leadership skills to the role. His goal is to leave a legacy of stronger communities, improved support systems, and a more connected Leeds Beckett experience for all students.
