Charlotte Pettitt is responsible for leading the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of research integrity and ethics policies and procedures across Leeds Beckett University.

Charlotte Pettitt is responsible for leading the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of research integrity and ethics policies and procedures across Leeds Beckett University. This ensures institutional compliance with national frameworks such as the Concordat to Support Research Integrity, UKRIO, DORA, and CoARA.

Her role includes managing the university’s online ethics approval system, supporting the Research Ethics Sub-Committee, providing institutional reports, advising on ethical review processes internally and externally and delivering training and expert guidance to academic staff and postgraduate researchers. The role also includes working on research security and the trusted research agenda, advising and developing guidance and process based on national legislation and requirements such as FIRS, NSI, Export Controls, and ATAS.

Charlotte works closely with the School Research Ethics Coordinators, the Chair of the University Ethics Sub-Committee, Director of Research and Innovation and colleagues across Research and Enterprise and the Library Research Support Team.

Charlotte previously worked at the University of Hull in Research Governance and Quality and has a BA and MA in History and a PG Cert in Senior Leadership.
