Helen Howard

Helen is Head of Library Academic Services at Leeds Beckett University, leading the Learning Resources, Research Support, Skills for Learning and Academic Librarian Teams to support the learning, teaching and research of staff and students across the University.

Helen has worked in academic libraries for over 25 years with a particular focus on promoting academic, research and study skills development in students, through curriculum development work with academic staff and the provision of extra curricula opportunities.

Helen is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and supports the University's HEA Fellowship Scheme as a critical friend and reviewer. In 2017, she won the national Information Literacy award which recognises an outstanding UK-based practitioner or researcher (awarded by CILIP: the Library and Information Association). Before joining Leeds Beckett in 2017, Helen worked at the University of Leeds as a Learning Services Manager.
