Louise joined Leeds Beckett University in September 2023 and is a Lecturer on the BSc Physiotherapy and MSc (pre registration) Physiotherapy courses. Louise is the admissions tutor for the MSc (pre registration) Physiotherapy degree course.

Louise joined Leeds Beckett University in September 2023 and is a Lecturer on the BSc Physiotherapy and MSc (pre registration) Physiotherapy courses. Louise is the admissions tutor for the MSc (pre registration) Physiotherapy degree course.

Louise has worked across many different health care settings and environments, both in the NHS and privately since graduation and has over 15 years of clinical experience. Louise's clinical interests lie in stroke rehabilitation and Louise has worked for many years in community stroke rehabilitation as a clinical specialist and team lead. Louise also has experience of project management and service transformation in healthcare having been involved in both clinical and workforce NHS service improvement programmes.

Research interests

Louise's research interests include the clinical areas of stroke rehabilitation and community rehabilitation. In addition, Louise is also interested in the pedagogy of physiotherapy and healthcare studies.

Louise is currently involved in the following research:

-An exploration of stroke physiotherapists current practice in relation to the implementation of clinical guidelines in UK community stroke rehabilitation settings (Principal Investigator)

-Appraising taught content formulation of information for Moving and Handling education of trainee health professionals: A scoping review

Current teaching

Louise teaches across levels 4, 5 and 6 on the BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy degree programme and level 7 on the MSc (pre registration) Physiotherapy degree. Louise teaches on the following modules:
