Rosie has experience teaching on a range of courses across Education Studies, Early Childhood Studies, and Children’s Learning and Development pathways. Rosie has gained industry knowledge and a range of experience through teaching and research within Higher Education.

Rosie initially trained to become a teacher of Physical Education, obtained a BSc with honours in Sport Studies from the University of Worcester in 2012, followed by a Post Graduate Diploma in Education with Secondary Initial Teacher Training in 2013. From this opportunity Rosie undertook a Master’s in Education at University of Birmingham in 2015. The experience of studying at higher levels was transformative and fostered the development of Rosie's passion for teaching and researching theoretical concepts through the context of education.

Rosie has a range of professional experience within the education sector ranging from support roles within SEND settings, to teaching in secondary and further education contexts. After qualifying as a secondary school teacher and 3 years lecturing on A Level theory Physical Education programmes in Further Education, Rosie secured her first post lecturing at University of Gloucestershire in 2016 where she contributed to the Sports Education and Society undergraduate and postgraduate pathways.

Since then, Rosie has expanded her experience within the sector. As part of her role as PhD researcher at University of York, she has recently taught on Education, Policy and Practice during the 2021/22 academic year. Rosie continues to expand her professional expertise and recently held a post at University Campus North Lincolnshire and University Campus Doncaster where she worked as a Lecturer in Education, contributing to the Children's Learning and Development degree pathways.

Rosie has a passion for social justice and widening participation access to education. She is motivated by the social process of educating, working alongside learners from a diverse range of backgrounds, and is an advocate of lifelong learning.

Research interests

Rosie is currently studying for a PhD in Education Studies with University of York, focusing on the similarities and differences in Character Education and Citizenship Education in England.

Current teaching

Rosie teaches across a range of modules within Interdisciplinary Studies and supervises both undergraduate and postgraduate dissertation projects.

She is currently level lead and academic advisor for Level 5 Childhood Studies and Level 7 MA Childhood and Education.
