Roy is a Lecturer in Education and Childhood specialising in working at the Further/Higher Education interface. His interests lie in the modelling of professional practice by educators and in the use and misuse of digital technologies in teaching and learning.

Roy is a Lecturer in Education and Childhood based within the Carnegie School of Education. He taught A Level Earth Science and Geography for many years before moving into teacher education and professional development within the Further Education sector. He currently teaches on a range of education courses including the BA (Hons) Childhood Studies and the Distance-Learning PGCE.

Roy specialises in working at the Further/Higher Education interface. His current research interests lie in the modelling of professional practice by teacher educators and in the use and misuse of digital technologies in teaching and in further education.

Research interests

Professional practice, digital pedagogy and teacher education in post-16 and university education.
