Stuart Morris

In his role as Research Excellence Manager at Leeds Beckett University Stuart leads on the preparation of the University’s Research Excellence Framework (REF) submission and provides expert policy advice and guidance on all matters related to the REF. Stuart also has responsibility for the development of research integrity and research governance policies and procedures at the University, establishing systems and processes to facilitate these activities, and ensuring these are kept up-to-date and informed by best practice, and align with related concordats and frameworks.

Stuart has over 25 years’ experience working in the UK higher education sector at three different universities and has significant experience of developing and implementing the processes that support both the academic and corporate governance of a large public institution, the management of a university's submission to the Research Excellence Framework, and the development, implementation and auditing of relevant research policies and procedures. Stuart also worked on secondment to UK Research & Innovation working as secretariat support two panels for the REF2021 assessment exercise.
