He has a background in high street practice and is also an experienced lecturer in law across a range of core subjects on the LL.B.

Tom joined Leeds Law School in September 2019 and is a graduate of Northumbria University (LL.B Exempting).

He has a background in high street practice and is also an experienced lecturer in law across a range of core subjects on the LL.B.
Tom started his career as a legal caseworker for the Legal Services Commission working in partnership with legal aid providers across Yorkshire. He then completed his training at a local family law firm, qualifying as a solicitor in 2009. During his time in practice Tom gained valuable insights into the economic, social and cultural issues facing families in our local communities.

He then worked at Bradford College University Centre for a number of years, lecturing in a range of core subjects on the LL.B and becoming a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. During his time there he also wrote a number of articles on the practical application of law for the Cilex Journal.

Research interests

Tom has recently embarked on PhD study. His research considers the GDPR regime and the notion of ""fairness"" in how personal data is acquired and used. The research draws on contractual issues relating to the expectations of the consumer.
