Animations & Interaction

The Leeds Beckett University website occasionally uses animations to page elements and animated gifs to add impact to pages. If you wish to stop them from playing for accessibility purposes or for personal preference then please see the guidance below. Please note that browsers sometimes change how they operate, so please refer to your browser help files to find their latest information.
How do I turn off animations?

Chrome

Chrome users will need to use browser extensions. Animation Policy from Google will help you set your own preferences.

Microsoft Edge

There is currently no way to disable animations within Microsoft Edge. Users of Edge (Chromium) browser can install the Chrome extensions above and use them.

Internet Explorer

To stop animations on a single page you can just press the 'Esc' key. This will stop the animation on that page. If you wish to restart the animations you need to refresh the page. To permanently disable the playing of animated GIF images, open Internet Options > Advanced tab. Under the Multimedia section, uncheck the Play animations in webpage check-box, click Apply and Exit and then restart your computer.

Firefox

Type about:config in Firefox address bar and hit Enter to open Settings. Search for the image.animation_mode flag and change its value from Normal to None. Once you restart Firefox this will disable animations.

The Carnegie International Cricket Academy (CICA) is a partnership between Leeds Beckett University and Pro Coach Yorkshire Cricket, the official coaching partner of The Yorkshire County Cricket Club.

The Academy provides students with the opportunity to be part of a comprehensive high-performance cricket programme whilst studying a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree at one of the most popular universities in the UK.

The Yorkshire Cricket Club

The Yorkshire County Cricket Club is one of the world's most famous cricket clubs. Founded in 1863, Yorkshire is England's most successful club, winning a record 33 County Championships, joint Champions twice and five One-Day cricket crowns. Yorkshire can also lay claim to producing more England players in history than any other County - no fewer than five players have been inducted into the International Cricket Council Hall of Fame. There is no other English county that can boast five members in the Hall of Fame.

Away from the professional arena, Yorkshire is a hotbed of cricket in the country, with over 850 grassroots clubs and schools playing the game in the summer, equating to over 125,000 recreational players in the region.

Emerald Headingley Cricket Ground is also one of the world’s most renowned international venues The ground opened in 1890 and celebrates over 130 years of sporting heritage. Emerald Headingley has been graced by such players as Sachin Tendulkar, Cheteshwar Pujara, Kane Williamson and Darren Lehmann – just to name a few.

Pro Coach Yorkshire Cricket

Pro Coach Yorkshire Cricket is the official commercial coaching arm and partner of Yorkshire County Cricket Club (YCCC) and provides the administration and coaching delivery for Yorkshire’s pathways system – which has produced players such as Joe Root, Jonny Bairstow, Tim Bresnan and the company founder Andrew Gale.

Pro Coach was established in 2006 and is now one of the largest commercial coaching companies in the world. Our aim is to offer a first-class coaching experience to players of any age, gender, and ability to reach their potential and to enjoy the game.

Pro Coach is privileged to be based within the Emerald Headingley Test Match ground, allowing us to offer our clients first class cricket facilities and experiences.

Our Elite coaches are all ECB level 3 Performance Coaches and deliver coaching to the highest professional standard, with the opportunity for guest master classes with current and former professionals in the game.

Pro Coach promises to show what the most famous cricketing county in the world expects from their players, while providing a unique cricketing experience of the highest quality. We want our Carnegie International Cricket Academy students to live and breathe this culture, and to showcase it in their cricket.
