Abigail Courage – BA (Hons) Events Management: Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Course
"I have wholeheartedly enjoyed the last four years at UK Centre for Events Management and to be rewarded with a first class honours and the Dean's Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Course has been the absolute cherry on top for me. I have learned so much over the last few years, both within and outside of university and I am so excited to take this knowledge into my professional and personal life now having graduated. My placement year was an amazing opportunity and resulted in the Dean's award as well as me winning the Best Conference and Exhibitions Sector Focus at the Association for Events Management Education Awards 2024. My time in International Currency, ID and High Security Printing Conference Management during that year was extreme fun, challenging and taught me so much that I could go into my final year with strong knowledge and experience behind me with the chance to apply my placement into my research and projects along the way. Knowing that my hard work over the years has been recognised and is appreciated by the school, I really hope this inspires many others along the way to absolutely put the most into their studies, as well as their personal and professional pursuits. I will thoroughly miss Leeds Beckett but I am moving on knowing that I will forever be part of the UKCEM community."
