What’s The Business Board About?

Think of it as a sounding board for your business, but better. It’s a space where you can step away from the daily grind and meet other like-minded leaders who get it. Whether it’s brainstorming new ideas, getting feedback on tough decisions, or learning from others’ experiences, The Business Board is here to help you grow—both personally and professionally.

Here’s what makes it special

  • Safe and Supportive: Share your business challenges openly in a trusted environment.
  • Peer Power: Learn from fellow business owners who are navigating the same ups and downs.
  • Fresh Perspectives: Get new insights to solve problems and sharpen your strategy.
  • Expert Guidance: Tap into the resources and expertise of Leeds Beckett University.

Why It Works

The program is led by experienced facilitators, David Talor and myself, who guide sessions packed with real-world advice and actionable takeaways. And the best part? You’ll leave each session not just with ideas, but with the confidence to turn them into action.

What Existing Members Say

Here’s what a few of our members have shared:

"I have really enjoyed the Business Board and I always find it really useful to take a step away from the day to day of business operations to take stock and evaluate of myself and the business. Building new connections and spending time with other business owners who have different experiences and backgrounds I find interesting and hugely beneficial. It is often the case that Board members continue to help and support each other going forwards to build lasting relationships.”

- Daniel Dufton ACA Director, Whitesides, Chartered Accountants

“The Business Board is an opportunity to share ideas amongst leaders with support from peers which offers a different perspective. Academia enhances our business focus with ideas and strategy to support growth in sales but also in people and mindset. Successful leadership is vital in the current climate and the Futures & Foresights is a must for future growth.”

- Louise O’Brien, The Greyhound Box
