STEM Careers Fair supported by SoBEE
Notre Dame Sixth Form College host an annual STEM careers fair which showcases the wide variety of careers available in science, technology, engineering and maths.
This year, the event was a great success, attended by the largest ever number of exhibitors – both businesses and universities – and by students from all year groups.
Staff and researchers from The School of Built Environment and Engineering (SoBEE) participated by showcasing their specific research into water engineering and water quality testing adapted to help poverty stricken communities in developing countries. Notre Dame are keen to promote STEM-related degrees and careers amongst their students, so were particularly pleased that students got to see hands-on demonstrations of technologies carried out by SoBEE staff.
Head of Careers Mrs Anna Dickinson said: ‘The STEM fair was an excellent event. There was a real buzz at the fair with students intrigued to find out more about careers and courses around Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths. We would like to thank our external organisations for supporting the event and helping to raise the profile of STEM.’
