Tiled background

My Offer Holder Day was a game-changer, it gave me the clarity I needed during the decision-making process because I felt as though it provided me with way more detailed information than the Open Day and gave me valuable insights into what university life would be like, plus what my Marketing Management course would actually look like over the next three years.

What does an Offer Holder Day offer?

1. A chance to learn & connect

Your  Offer Holder Day is such an amazing opportunity to get a real feel for your course and meet the people behind it. It’s so much more detailed and personal than the Open Day. You’ll have the chance to chat with your future classmates, lecturers, and course leaders, which really helps you get a sense of the teaching styles, course content, and what life on campus is actually like. It’s not just about learning what’s in the course—it’s about seeing if it feels like the right fit for you.

For me, during my  Offer Holder Day, I remember sitting down with my future course leader and talking through the modules in more depth than I’d ever seen online. That one conversation completely changed the way I viewed the course, and it helped me picture what the next few years would look like. It wasn’t just a “this is what you’ll study” session — it was a “here’s how it all connects to real-life marketing and your future career.” It made me feel way more confident in my choice and excited for what was to come.

2. Interactive & insightful sessions

One of the highlights of the Offer Holder Day is the chance to engage in activities with other students who have applied for the same course as you. When I attended the Marketing Management session I remember feeling a bit nervous at first, but as soon as I started chatting with a few students during one of the ice-breaker activities, I realised we all had similar questions and interests about university life. We ended up bonding over shared experiences and even swapped social media handles! It was such a relief to know that everyone else was just as excited and nervous as I was.

3. Understanding key support & resources

The  Offer Holder Day also gave me a chance to learn about the different support resources available to students, which was something I hadn’t fully considered before. One of the things that stood out to me was finding out about the financial support options available, as someone who was feeling a bit anxious about the cost of university, hearing about scholarships, grants, and budgeting tips from the team really helped ease my worries. It made me realise that there’s a lot of support out there to ensure students aren’t left struggling financially.

Another major benefit was being able to discuss my disability with my course leader in a one-on-one setting. That conversation made such a difference to my overall sense of belonging. It was reassuring to know that Leeds Beckett is not only aware of the challenges students with disabilities face, but they are also proactive in providing the right support. After that chat, I felt so much more confident about how I would be supported throughout my course, and I knew I would have access to everything I needed to thrive.

It also gave me a clearer understanding of the university’s broader resources, from mental health support to academic tutoring, and how they could help me succeed in my studies. Overall, knowing that I had a solid support network behind me made me feel so much more prepared and accepted as part of the Leeds Beckett community.

4. Another chance to explore

If you didn’t have time to explore everything during your Open Day, this is your chance to dig deeper into those areas. There’s a lot to take in, so it’s important to plan ahead and pick the talks that matter most to you—this will help you get the most out of the day.

Leeds Beckett sends out detailed emails before the event, so you’ll have a list of all the sessions to choose from. You can really tailor your day to focus on what’s most important to you—whether that’s career advice, understanding student life, or exploring all the support options available.

And if you’re looking to spend a bit more time soaking in the city, make sure to factor in some time to explore Leeds too! It’s a great opportunity to get a feel for the surroundings, from cafes to shops and everything inbetween — something you might not have had time for during your Open Day.

So, do Offer Holder Days matter? Absolutely!

They give you a clearer understanding of what life at university will be like, helping you feel more confident in your decision. Plus, you can plan your day to focus on the things that matter most to you — whether it’s support services, career opportunities, or just getting to know your future campus. For me, the Offer Holder Day made a huge impact on my decision making, and I’m so glad I took the time to attend.
