Gain a detailed insight into the world of marketing. Explore a variety of marketing concepts, models and theories and relate them to the profession and marketing practice. You'll learn about the marketing mix and the application of marketing tools that contribute to enhancing customer satisfaction.
Explore the key principles that drive the understanding and application of artificial intelligence (AI) in marketing, digital marketing, public relations and advertising. You'll study the main concepts, tools, and techniques associated with AI and have the opportunity to use and apply them in a variety of relevant settings. Through a combination of theory and case studies, along with practical exercises, you'll begin to understand how AI works in industry and its effects both now and in the future.
Discover how marketing, public relations, advertising and digital content work in real life. This module follows a logical and simple route through an analysis of the current marketing environment. You'll explore the scope of and learn to apply practical marketing and communications activities and tactics when delivering organisational goals. You'll also begin to consider how any recommendations can be implemented and monitored.
Develop a range of communication tools across traditional and digital platforms as you create a media kit for an organisation or brand. This module will increase your awareness of what it takes to become a competent marketing and communications specialist. You'll enhance your interpersonal, problem-solving, and practical skills during the production of a personal and professional development plan. By the end of the module, you'll be able to communicate more clearly, concisely and ethically when carrying out a variety of tasks for a range of audiences.

Learn about the process and tactical detail of developing an advertising campaign. You'll gain an insight into how the advertising industry works, assessing the role of advertising and its links to the wider marketing communications mix. This module explores the key technical knowledge, concepts, models and theories of the principles of advertising. You'll develop the knowledge and skills to create and analyse your own advertising campaign. You'll also consider evolving ethical and social responsibility requirements.
Gain an understanding of the role of creativity within advertising. This module will introduce you to key concepts and documents in the creative process to produce engaging and effective advertising. You'll cover each stage from creative brief writing and interpretation, to pitching and ideation. As you build your creative portfolio, you'll explore the relationships between advertising, conceptual thinking, creative writing and design. By the end of the module, you'll have developed the knowledge and skills to understand, apply, and develop your own creative advertising content.
Gain a hands-on, practical understanding of the consumer journey, looking at both online and offline, examining how the two modes and relevant touchpoints interact. You'll be equipped with the knowledge and skills to develop effective campaign plans through the application of marketing, public relations, and communications principles. By the end of the module, you'll understand the complexities of the contemporary marketplace and begin to make decisions that provide value to your customers, stakeholders, and organisation.
Develop an in-depth appreciation of branding and how it should be considered as part of an integrated communications plan. This module will build your understanding of branding, consumer relationships with brands and the brand building and management process in a dynamic, highly competitive operating environment. You'll have the opportunity to practice developing and delivering contemporary brand communications activities and campaigns across many industry sectors.

Stategic marketing allows organisations to understand dynamic markets, build a competitive advantage and maximise opportunities for growth and value building. You'll evaluate strategic marketing activities and develop an awareness of strategic aspects of marketing as well as major aspects of the planning and control of marketing operations. Analysing the marketing environment using relevant strategic marketing tools and theories, you'll learn to make appropriate recommendations. By the end of the module, you'll be able to propose innovative solutions to organisational problems through strategic marketing.
The strategic advertising planning process is a key component of marketing communications. It contributes to the achievement of communications, marketing, and corporate objectives. During this module, you'll gain an in-depth understanding of how advertising decisions are made at a strategic level. You'll study the dynamic role of advertising within modern organisations and look at the impact of how it's changing and evolving. By the end of the module, you'll have developed the skills required to make strategic decisions as a marketing and advertising professional in the digital age.
The changing media environment has a dramatic impact on planning as well as the need to effectively integrate online and offline media across paid, owned and earned channels. Gain the knowledge and skills to successfully apply relevant media planning concepts within all areas of advertising and media industry. You'll study key aspects of media planning and the marketing environment to identify and respond to a range of challenges and opportunities. Additionally, you'll develop strategic approaches to achieving corporate and marketing aims through a detailed and practical media plan.
This module enables you to further develop your independent learning skills and demonstrate your capacity for sustained individual effort. You'll analyse and evaluate data and bring together ideas about your chosen research topic within the field of marketing, digital marketing, public relations, and/or advertising. You'll have the option to carry out your research in the form of a dissertation or practical research project.

How do marketing, advertising and communications agencies work? This module provides you with a guide of the roles, structures, departments, service offerings and business development practices commonly found within agency environments. You'll have the opportunity to explore and develop your own agencies drawing from industry guest speakers and workshops.
Develop your personal, professional and transferable skills - as well as your subject-related knowledge - through work experience. During your placement, you'll have the opportunity to apply the knowledge and skills gained throughout the first two years of your course. This practical experience will enhance your competencies and attributes, making you more employable when you graduate from Leeds Business School.
This course offers the opportunity to take a ‘placement’ year – a year of paid employment in industry which will build your skills and experience. This is usually taken between the second and third year of your degree and will extend the length of your course by an additional year.
Students who choose the placement route find it helps with both their studies and getting a job after graduation. It can build your confidence, contacts, and of course your CV. Leeds Beckett advertise lots of placement opportunities and provide support in helping you find the right placement for you.
