There will be live Q&A sessions along with an online showcase, bringing together a range of how-to guides, demo videos, impact case studies and more.
Professor Till said: “It’s an honour to be the keynote speaker at Leeds Beckett’s Research & Enterprise Conference. Leeds Beckett has played a significant part in my life for the last 20 years, from my time an undergraduate student to now a Professor within the Carnegie School of Sport.
“I look forward to telling my story and sharing how my life experiences influence my research, how we can bridge the gap between research and practice, and how the Leeds Beckett community plays a significant role in enhancing the lives of others.”
Kevin first began his relationship with Leeds Beckett in 2002, when he joined the Carnegie School of Sport as a student on the BSc (Hons) Sport & Exercise Science degree programme. Kevin progressed onto the MSc Sport & Exercise Science course, graduating in 2006, and completed his PhD - evaluating the talent identification and development programmes within junior rugby league - in 2011.
During his studies, Kevin also played rugby league - representing teams including Leeds Beckett and Great Britain Students - and went on to work as a strength and conditioning coach with Leeds United FC, Yorkshire County Cricket Club and Castleford Tigers RLFC.
Kevin was appointed Lecturer in Sports Coaching at Leeds Beckett in 2012 and has since been promoted to Senior Lecturer, Reader, and most recently, Professor of Athletic Development.
As Professor, Kevin contributes to research, PhD supervision, teaching and project management as Co-Director of the Centre for Applied Rugby Research (CARR) and Programme Leader for the Doctor of Professional Practice in Sport within the Carnegie School of Sport.
Kevin aims to bridge the gap between research and practice within the fields of sport and use the expertise within Leeds Beckett to support local communities and international organisations in implementing evidence-led practice.
Professor Cathy Barnes, Director of Research & Enterprise, added: “The last few months have been challenging for our University as we change our activities due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, we have been delighted to see that our research and enterprise activities have continued apace. We are taking our Research & Enterprise Conference online, and are looking forward to sharing a whole host of information with you about how you can enhance your research and enterprise activities in the current lockdown and beyond.”
