Wildlife filmmaker Vianet Djenguet awarded an Honorary Doctorate by Leeds Beckett University
Vianet graduated from Leeds Beckett University in 2006 with a BA (Hons) in Film & Moving Image Production in 2006.
Vianet is an award-winning wildlife filmmaker whose work has appeared in programmes on the BBC and National Geographic.
Vianet Djenguet, said: "I am deeply honoured to be given this doctorate and share this moment with future filmmakers embarking on their own journeys into film and television.
"It is an enormous pleasure to revisit the University where I graduated as an undergraduate in 2006 and started my journey into filmmaking."

Vianet’s filmography includes ‘Tigers About the House’, ‘Secret Safari’, ‘Primates’, ‘Animal’ and David Attenborough’s ‘Life in Colour’. Most recently Vianet has filmed for BBC’s landmark series, Planet Earth 3, due to be aired in December 2023.
Vianet received an award for On Screen Talent at the 2017 Royal Television Society Awards for 'The Natural World - My Congo' and won the Presenter Award at the 2018 Wildscreen Festival.
His on-screen debut came with 2016’s BBC Two’s The Natural World - My Congo, where he explored and presented some of the natural wonders of his homelands.
Through his career, Vianet has grown passionate about conservation and giving a voice to the voiceless. He supports charities which work with indigenous people, disadvantaged communities, endangered wildlife, human-wildlife conflict, and orphanages.
Vianet aims to create films that have a positive impact across the globe, give hope, inspiration and insight to viewers and visibility to those on the front line of conservation.
The Honorary Doctorate was granted as part of the university’s 2023 Graduation ceremonies at the first direct arena in Leeds.
