Leeds Beckett professor admitted to prestigious academy
The Academy is a renowned network that connects around 2,000 artists and scientists from across the globe, including almost 40 Nobel Prize laureates. Grigoris was elected to join Class VI - Technical and Environmental Sciences. Academy members are elected for their outstanding achievements in science, arts and governance.
Professor Antoniou said: "It is a great privilege to be elected member of this leading European academy. It is an acknowledgement of my work on foundational AI and its application to healthcare, and also of my many research collaborators and my home institution Leeds Beckett."
Professor Akintola Akintoye, Dean of the School of Built Environment, Engineering and Computing, congratulated Grigoris on the news: "This is a great honour for Professor Antoniou and for the school and testament to the work he has been doing in pioneering areas such as AI for mental health."
