UK quality mark for Leeds Met
A team of QAA reviewers visited Leeds Metropolitan University and judged that its academic standards, the quality and enhancement of its student learning opportunities, and the quality of information about its learning opportunities all meet UK expectations.
The review identified two examples of good practice. These were:
. the University's comprehensive and systematic engagement with collaborative partners through formal and informal mechanisms
. the way employability is embedded in the design, approval and delivery of courses.
The review recommended that the University should reflect upon the duration and scope of approval events with collaborative partner organisations to ensure it can be demonstrated that due consideration has been given to all areas of delivery.

Commenting on the review Professor Susan Price, Vice Chancellor, said: "The report reflects the comprehensive set of evidence we provided in support of our Self Evaluation Document and the positive conversations the Review team enjoyed with both the colleagues and students they met during their week-long visit. As the first university in the country to undergo this new QAA Review process, we are proud of our achievement in meeting national expectations across the board, which demonstrates our total commitment to quality and continuous improvement."
A successful review means that Leeds Metropolitan University, which will become Leeds Beckett University on 22 September 2014, can display the QAA Quality Mark, indicating to UK and international students that the university/college meets national requirements for standards and quality.
The review team included Professor Philip Cardew (London South Bank University), Wesley Well (a student reviewer who is also currently student engagement officer at Greenwich School of Management), Professor Hilary Grainger (University of the Arts, London), Dr Douglas Halliday (University of Durham) and Professor Diane Meehan (Liverpool John Moores University).
