The Leeds School of Arts scholarships will be awarded on the basis of exceptional academic performance and design experience, evidenced through an interview and design portfolio.

Funding Available - 10 x 50% scholarships
The scholarships are available for full-time taught Masters courses and will be applied as fee waivers towards the cost of tuition fees.

Subject-specific criteria:
Have achieved at least a UK first-class or upper second (or overseas equivalent) undergraduate award from a related course.

- You must receive an unconditional offer from Leeds Beckett for one of the above courses by 22 May 2026.
- Shortlisted scholarship applicants will be invited to an online interview in June 2026, during which you will be asked to present your portfolios.
- You must also satisfy all of the conditions of entry for postgraduate study at Leeds Beckett University.

- This scholarship is open to applicants assessed as having an ‘Overseas or EU’ residence.

Subject-specific criteria:
Have achieved a UK first-class or upper second (or overseas equivalent) undergraduate award from a course pertaining to Music, Sound or Performing Arts, which includes but is not limited to, Acting, Dance, Performance, Music Performance, Music Production or Music Technology.
- You must submit your application through the online Applicant Portal.
- You must receive an unconditional offer from Leeds Beckett for a Masters Programme in Music, Sound and Performing Arts by 22 May 2026.
- Shortlisted scholarship applicants will be invited to an online interview in June 2026, during which you will be asked to present your design portfolios, which may include university and practice-based projects.
- You must also satisfy all of the conditions of entry for postgraduate study at Leeds Beckett University.
Funding Available - 2 x 50% scholarships
Subject-specific criteria:
You must have achieved a UK first-class or upper second (or overseas equivalent) undergraduate award from a dance or performance related subject.
- You must submit your application through the online Applicant Portal.
- You must receive an unconditional offer from Leeds Beckett on one of the courses above by 22 May 2026.
- Shortlisted scholarship applicants will be invited to an online interview in June 2026, during which you will be asked to present your dance MA Dance & Choreography portfolio, which may include university and practice-based projects.
- You must also satisfy all of the conditions of entry for postgraduate study at Leeds Beckett University.
- This scholarship is open to applicants assessed as having an ‘Overseas or EU’ residence status.
2 scholarships are available for successful applicants to a postgraduate course.
Funding Available - 2 x 50% scholarships
The scholarships are available for full-time taught Masters courses and will be applied as fee waivers towards the cost of tuition fees.
Subject-specific criteria:
You must have achieved a UK first-class or upper second (or overseas equivalent) undergraduate award from an Games Design, Games Audio or Sound Design course or equivalent.
- You must submit your application through the online Applicant Portal.
- You must receive an unconditional offer from Leeds Beckett by 22 May 2026.
- Shortlisted scholarship applicants will be invited to an online interview in June 2026, during which you will be asked to present a portfolio of work, which may include university and practice-based projects.
- You must also satisfy all of the conditions of entry for postgraduate study at Leeds Beckett University.
- This scholarship is open to applicants assessed as having an ‘Overseas or EU’ residence status from one of the eligible countries - please see our full list of eligible countries.
2 scholarships are available for successful applicants to a postgraduate course.
Terms & Conditions
To be eligible for the Leeds School of Art scholarships you must:
- Be assessed as having an ‘Overseas or EU’ residency status
- Be assessed to pay the overseas fee
- Be studying the relevant course full time
- Be actively enrolled on an eligible course
- Be a self-funded student, who is paying the full course fee for that year (those students who have their tuition fees paid by a third-party sponsor, employer or government agency will not be eligible)
- Studying that level of the course for the first time (i.e. not repeating any level during that year)
In addition, you must meet the course-specific criteria as outlined above.
Applications are open until 22 May 2026
You do not need to complete a separate application form to receive the scholarship. Shortlisted scholarship applicants who meet the entry criteria for their course will be invited to an online interview in June 2026, during which you will be asked to present your design portfolios, which may include university and practice-based projects.
You will not be eligible for the scholarship if any of the following apply to you;
- Courses or schemes where particular rates or payment arrangements exist (such as those relating to Franchise / Overseas / Partner Based delivery or any other special arrangement)
- Part time students
- Any repeat year
- Any year where the student is out on placement
- Students on Distance Learning courses
- Those studying PGDip or PGCert programmes
- Those studying LLM Legal Practice course
- Those studying Doctorate of Business Administration (DBA), Doctor of Education (EdD), or Research By Published Works.
If you are in receipt of the Leeds School of Arts International Scholarship, you will not be eligible to receive an additional international scholarship from the university. Where you qualify for more than one international scholarship, the scholarship with the highest value will be awarded. The university reserves the right to vary or withdraw any scholarship at its sole discretion.
