Admission Interview Guidance
Great news, we’ve made you an offer and would now like to invite you to submit a digital portfolio for our (BA) Hons Filmmaking course (UCAS code P315).
Visit our website to find out more about studying at the Leeds School of Arts.
We are excited to see what you have included in your portfolio.
You want to make your portfolio stand out – so, what are we looking for?
We want to see work that shows us your artistic and creative ability. We understand that you may not have studied filmmaking as part of your current or previous studies. That’s fine. We do not prioritise applicants with prior filmmaking experience. We are interested in your artistic and creative ability, however you choose to present.
Your portfolio can include:
-
-
An online link to 5 min selection of a film/films you have made or a show reel of your work. You should also include a short written explanation of your work, from its inception to its completion, including an explanation of the roles you have undertaken in this/these film/s (100 - 200 words).
-
-
A sample of creative writing – no longer than 5 pages. This can be in the form of a script, short story, fiction extract, play or drama extract, selection of poems or any other creative writing. Traditional essays are not considered to be creative writing.
-
A portfolio of no more than 5 reproductions of any art or design work, photography or visual material (drawing, painting, magazine images etc.). This can include any combination of the above or can feature only one type of work. We are not looking for variety here – we are looking for quality.
The submissions should be in digital form (PDF File) for images and scripts or in the form of an online link for a video. The submission should not exceed 5Mb of total file size. No hard copies can be accepted by post.
