Essential information
The Digital Learning Service (part of Library and Learning Services) can help colleagues with the following systems and their associated mobile apps.
MyBeckett is the University Portal and Virtual learning Environment (VLE).
- Module design, tools and management
- Student engagement in modules and course groups
- Assessment and feedback
Turnitin is an online submission, text matching and feedback tool.
- Assignment creation
- Marking and feedback
PebblePad is a personal learning space supporting learning development.
- ePortfolios
- ATLAS (Active Teaching, Learning and Assessment)
Inspera is an online assessment platform used by Law and Nursing.

Our Advisors are the first point of contact for staff members contacting the Digital Learning Service. They are also involved in delivering staff training events, project work, system maintenance / enhancement, and the creation of how-to guides.

Our Digital Development Specialists lead on projects to develop digital capability, digital pedagogy, and the digital learning ecosystem at Leeds Beckett University, ensuring it evolves in line with learning and teaching needs.
The team works in partnership with colleagues to support high quality learning and teaching through the innovative and effective use of our digital platforms and tools. For students, the team designs and delivers digital skills resources that build independence, support progression, and strengthen career readiness.

The Digital Learning Service is managed by Rianne MacArthur and is part of Technologies for Learning within Library and Learning Services. We work closely with the Centre for Learning and Teaching (CLT) and Digital Services (ITS).
We offer Schools / Course Teams a consultation involving collaborative academic and technical discussion, supporting School five year plan objectives. We also work on projects that aim to support the University's strategic plan and education strategy, particularly enhancing the student experience / satisfaction and building a community of great people.
The Digital Learning Service have a variety of training and support options:
- Staff induction webinars aimed to welcome new colleagues and provide an introduction to MyBeckett and the support services available to staff and students
- Self-paced staff training modules, available via MyBeckett All Staff Community
- How-to guides for colleagues, providing step-by-step instructions for MyBeckett and integrated digital learning tools
