This staff guide contains information about Inspera lockdown browsers.

What are lockdown browsers?

Lockdown browsers are web browsers that are designed to increase the security of digital exams.

Students will use the lockdown browser to sit exams within strict, managed limits. For example, they will only be able to open specific web addresses (URLs) and PDFs that have been allowed within the test settings.

Most lockdown browsers also prevent students from copying and pasting text, taking screenshots or using messaging apps or tools on their computer while they are taking a test.
