This section in teachlearn will show comprehensive examples of queries or examples generated by staff enquiry or by identifying a need to show complete processes.

One of these is the first example in the series, which is 'How to setup a timed essay'.

This will be a demonstration of what the title implies but will not only detail how to create the timed essay as a staff member (i.e. in this case academic) but what happens after.

This will see the student submission in response, followed by a run-through of what the academic does marking the essay and awarding the grade.  The detailed examples will also include matters that may arise from the process such as advice on late submissions etc.

What also came up in the above timed essay example was also the use of language and the differences between academic and Blackboard terminology for what amounts to the same things (e.g. essay versus assignment, grading versus marking).

This is also a separate section because it can involve two or more systems - the example of a timed essay involves both Turnitin and Blackboard.

Further examples will be added here to become a series of worked through scenarios stemming from requests or experiences shared for practical use.
