Providing mental health support for Battle Back
The university’s School of Health and Community Studies has begun work with Battle Back, a program led by the Ministry of Defence in partnership with the Royal British Legion and Help for Heroes, supporting returning Armed Forces personnel.
Coaching and the delivery of residential courses at the Battle Back Centre has been provided by the university’s School of Sport and Carnegie Great Outdoors since its launch in 2011. Carnegie Great Outdoors sought expertise to help adjust the programme to meet arising needs. The involvement of colleagues from this School is in response to growing awareness of mental health challenges emerging through the courses.
