The Great British Bucket List
Here are some that we believe you have to try at least once.
Catch a wave
Have a day at sea and learn how to surf at Longsands Bay, Tynemouth, Watergate Bay in Cornwall or at another top surfing location. Pretend you're a true surfer dude and learn the lingo while you're at it! FAR OUT!!
Afternoon tea
If you're someone who doesn't understand why the British are known to love tea, try it at one of the top locations and you might just be swayed. If you do love tea then why not try some of the nation's best afternoon teas?
Get lost in a maze
Find your way out of the 1.69miles of winding pathways at Longleat's Hedge Maze, visit the labyrinth of caves at Yorkshire's Forbidden Corner, or, of course, there's the UK's largest, York Maze. For a maze with a twist, visit the Alton Towers Scarefest.
Go to a festival
You haven't lived until you've rocked the shorts and wellies combo while trudging through the mud to catch the headline act, then partying at a silent disco until 5am. For alternative music, hit up Leeds or Reading, Lovebox and Wireless are where it's at for dance, and for big names and popular music, get to Glastonbury or V Fest.
Go Ape
The UK's number 1 forest adventure. Get in touch with your inner Tarzan by tackling the high-crossings, swinging from ropes, and zip-lining back down. No two Ape adventures are the same so if you decide you want more, visit another!
Eat fish and chips with a view
Head to one of our beloved seaside resorts, grab some fish and chips (soaked in vinegar) and sit on the pier enjoying the view out to sea. Just watch for the sneaky seagulls stealing your chips! Why not head to Bournemouth, Whitby, or Scarborough?
Get cultured with some street art
There's more than Banksy when it comes to Street Art, although we're not denying his work is definitely worth a look! So as well as Bristol, get to Shoreditch, or if you're a Breaking Bad fan, head to Manchester Northern Quarter!
Go on a hike
In the south? Hike up England's most popular mountain, Helvellyn, thought to be romantic with a capital 'r'. If you're closer to the midlands go and see the spectacular views at Stanage Edge, or for the north delve into Roman history walking Hadrian's wall path.
