What is The Law Society?

The Law Society is a course-based society for anyone studying law or who has an interest in it. It’s run by law students, for law students, and was formed with a simple purpose: to get law students together to help each other, build relationships between different year groups, and to offer a place where like-minded people can socialise and learn from each other.

The Leeds Law Society now boasts a close community of over 120 members from all different year groups, and it’s constantly growing.

What can I enjoy as a member?

The Leeds Beckett Law Society committee is responsible for organising monthly, sometimes bi-monthly, events for members – one is usually a social involving food, drinks, games and quiz nights, and then the next will be educational. There might be a guest speaker from the legal community for example, or an organised group trip to court to witness a trial. There’s also an annual Law Ball – this year’s was in May at The Marriott Hotel.

Everything the Society does is aimed at furthering the knowledge, skills and experience of its members. And you’ll make long-lasting friendships!

I’m interested. Where do I sign up?
