Students and Academics visit Ateliermob Architects in Lisbon

Leeds School of Architecture post graduate students from the MArch CITYzen D Design Studio and Project Office directors exchanged presentations with Ateliermob architects in Lisbon.

Lisbon Ateliermob Architects

Ateliermob is a socially driven organisation that has a compelling approach to architecture, design and urbanism. We learned about ‘Working with the 99%’ which relates to ‘the provision of services’ for those communities that don’t normally have access to design professionals.

This aligns very well with the ethos of Project Office and CITYzen D design studio. Craig, Simon, Hanzla, Fozia, Jeneill and Timea discussed our work in Ateleirmob’s office with their wonderful staff and exchanged ideas about our praxis and the issues we share and overcome.

Tiago Mota Saraiva added, “Ateliermob were excited to understand so many shared thoughts, questions and ways of approaching the discipline of architecture on our common goal of stretching architecture boundaries to make it more useful to the society we live in.”
