The first cohort of BA (Hons) Fashion Marketing students eligible for placements has enjoyed exceptional success. Students have been working hard at a range of established and start-up brands, including Barbour and Ben Sherman.

Some of those students have opted for a year-long placement with one company, while others have split their sandwich year into two parts.

Alexandra Williams is one such student. She gained a placement at Alexandra McQueen, working as the menswear press intern, where she received glowing reviews from her managers. She has now moved on to a PR internship, at Burberry.

Similarly, Olivia Hubert has split her placement. For the first part of her sandwich year, Olivia worked hard at the Leeds-based, but internationally distributed bag company The Extras Group. While her main responsibilities were based around social-media marketing, she also had the opportunity to use her skills to contribute to a bag design that has subsequently been put into production. Olivia has now moved onto another Leeds-based company, Xsem, for a paid six-month internship in marketing.
