We are convinced our graduates can bring new approaches to your work environment, contribute to your diverse workplace, but also to offer that different perspectives that can create innovation, creatively and more profitability for your businesses.

The perfect timing

Did you know that the perfect time to advertise your vacancies is now. This is the time of the year when most of our final year students who want to stay in Leeds start to look for work before final course work and exams take place.

But our finalists and graduates do look for work all year round. Summer is also great once our students have finished their studies. September to December is a great timeline for those that may have had summer commitments and travelled. The Beckett Careers Team keep in touch with our graduates for up to five years where they can access our jobs portal and support from the careers team.

How to hire our graduates

To hire these future professionals, recent graduates and a network of alumni, you can use our online jobs portal Career Hub. It is accessible to all students, and graduates for up to five years, meaning that you can reach a wide audience. You can register for free and upload your vacancy for approval here.

So how do you catch their attention of our students and graduates. We suggest writing a detailed job description that covers the background of your company, the specifics of the role, the approximate salary range, and any training or development opportunities. You should also:

  • Detail information about why a graduate would want to come and work for your business
  • Use the word ‘graduate’ in the job title
  • Be transparent with salary if at all possible, and other benefits including hybrid working, flexible hours and annual leave allowance
  • Keep the vacancy live for at least four weeks
  • Include a defined interview date

And we are happy to support the creation of a good job description.
