The Beckett Careers Team here at LBU are dedicated to supporting our students to be confident and capable graduates who are ready for the world of work. We are focussed on delivering career education that enables our student to:

  • Explore opportunities and career pathways through an online library of information and tools, through workshops and through one to one coaching.
  • Build connections and links to expert advice and networks at events and fairs.
  • Develop work insight and experiences through paid placements and internships.
  • Apply their academic learning to real life challenges through projects and professional development programmes.

We are proud of our students and graduate talent. When businesses recruit LBU graduates, they gain access to a pool of highly skilled talent that is diverse in background, perspective, and approach. Here are some key statistics about our student population:

  • 95% of our students come from state schools.
  • 35% of our students have a diverse ethnic heritage.
  • 41.2% of our students are the first in their families to pursue higher education.
  • 14% of our students self-declare a disability.

A critical part of our career education offer is the link to organisations and businesses to enable us to place career learning in the real-world context. As we start to prepare for a new academic year, we are looking to build our relationship with external partners. And we would like to hear from if you are interested in working with us to:

  • Recruit our students and graduates into full and part time roles.
  • Offer paid placement and internship roles.
  • Support our future talent by creating work ready experiences, insight days and project-based opportunities.

To get stated we are keen to hear about you, your business and how you would like to work with us. Please fill out our employer interest form and we will be in touch.

You can find out more about our offer and working with us in partnership by visiting our new employer site. It is here you can access our free online job and placement portal where you can post vacancies that are seen by our students.

Finally, if you have any other questions you can get in touch by emailing Beckett Careers
