Worktribe - what's changing and why?
From late April we will be transitioning the university’s costing and pricing system for Research and Knowledge Exchange projects from REMs to a new system. Worktribe is a sector-leading software platform for HEI management and Leeds Beckett will implement the Pre-Award module from late April 2026. This builds on the successful implementation of the Worktribe Ethics module in Autumn 2025.
The change was instigated because our current REMs costing and pricing system will no longer be supported from later this year.
We will confirm a definitive Go Live date as we near the end of our implementation phase, but we anticipate that all activity will move to Worktribe in late April.
What are the benefits?
Worktribe provides one collaborative platform. We have already successfully implemented the Worktribe Ethics module, implementing Pre-Award in April and Post-Award later in the year creates one platform instead of several stand-alone systems creating efficiencies and interoperability.
The Pre-Award module is one of the sector’s leading solutions for collaborative bid development, costing and submission. It provides a more intuitive, user-friendly and streamlined platform for bid development.
Worktribe Pre-Award has a greater degree of functionality than our old system including funder-specific schemes, enhanced visibility and better access to live reports and data.
How does this affect me?
All new costings will be created in Worktribe from our Go Live date – expected to be late April. For most colleagues they will continue to contact the Funding Support Team, Research Development or Business Development colleagues as previously to instigate a bid. There will be no change to business processes or timelines. As always we require you to provide timely notice of your intention to bid for Research or Knowledge Exchange projects.
For the small number of academic colleagues who create their own costings in REMs you will now need to contact a member of the Research & Enterprise team for assistance. Academic colleagues will be unable to create or amend costings in Worktribe Pre-Award but will retain full visibility. A separate communication will be sent to these colleagues who currently cost bids in REMs.
Deans and Directors of Research will receive a tailored communication about access for approval of bids as well as access to reporting.
