Following a year of development culminating in the successful validation of the course by the University and the successful accreditation by the Professional Body, The Chartered Institute of Environmental Health the course is ready to launch.

Mark Hodgson, Senior Lecturer in the team, was part of a Trailblazer Group that was instrumental in the development of the Degree Apprenticeship Standard in Environmental Health. Mark then went on to arrange a series of very successful and well attended employer liaison events to gauge interest from employers.

Enthusiasm and commitment from a range of employers in the area further pushed to team to develop the course. Due to demand places have been limited to one per employer.

The first cohort sees Apprentices coming to us from a range of employers based in Yorkshire and Humber, Lincolnshire, the North East and Lancashire.

‘As a team we are very excited to be launching the Degree Apprenticeship. We must thank the University’s Apprenticeship Team for all their hard work, help and guidance in helping us get to this stage. We know it will continue to be a steep learning curve and we are ready to face the challenge’.
