The College of Allied Educators (CAE) runs a highly successful Counselling Diploma programme. Our one-year top-up MA Psychotherapy course enables graduates from that course to pursue research informed practice and gain a full MA Award, via our one-year top up course.

The ceremony was held at CAE’s premises with Leeds Becket staff joining the celebrations via video link. A moving speech was provided by one of the graduates , Marc Venner who spoke about the impact the course has had on his own approach to client centred work.

Reflecting on the day, John Hills said “I was delighted to attend our first graduation ceremony and represent the LBU team. In my capacity as link tutor, it's been my pleasure to support Kirby, Mei and colleagues at CAE in the construction of and day to day running of the course. What has really struck me during this first year delivery of the course are the parallels between our Leeds-based students and our Singapore-based students as their projects blossomed in tandem.  And the subjects that our Singapore-based students chose to tackle - such as therapist burnout, self-disclosure, and management of risk in video conferencing therapies - were themes pertinent not just to the profession in Singapore but indeed across the world.
