Having been an international student myself, I know how exciting but also how overwhelming it can feel when you first arrive in a new country. I'm here to help international students settle in, feel supported, and make the most of their time at Leeds Beckett.

Outside of work, I'm passionate about travel, photography, and community engagement, and I love being part of activities that bring people together.

What are the five best things about studying in Leeds?

  1. The diversity and community: Leeds is full of students from across the world, which makes it such a vibrant and welcoming city
  2. Perfect location: Situated in the heart of the UK, Leeds is well connected and makes travelling around the country super easy
  3. Something’s always happening: From live music and Light Night to Christmas markets and local fairs, the city is buzzing all year round
  4. City meets nature: Leeds perfectly balances a modern city vibe with plenty of green spaces and peaceful parks to unwind in
  5. Sports culture: As a big sports fan, I’ve loved watching football at LUFC and catching cricket matches at Headingley Stadium

Have you been involved in any social activities?

I've always been an active part of student life. Being involved with Global Village helped me meet people from all over the world and really boosted my confidence. My journey started as a student attendee, then a Global Ambassador, and now as a Global Engagement Officer. It's been an incredible experience.

I was also part of the Outdoor Society, which gave me the chance to explore amazing places around Leeds and connect with people who share the same sense of adventure.

What are your plans for the future?

I've really enjoyed helping students settle into university life and promoting cross-cultural collaboration and innovation. With my passion for entrepreneurship, I'm keen on building my own startup, while also using my experience in global engagement to support projects that make international higher education more connected and inclusive.

What advice would you give to someone from your country?

My biggest advice is to step out of your comfort zone and take every opportunity that comes your way. Network, get involved, and join Global Village events to make the most of your student life. Leeds is full of opportunities waiting for you to explore.

Most importantly, never hesitate to ask questions or reach out for support. There's always someone here who's happy to help
