Animations & Interaction

The Leeds Beckett University website occasionally uses animations to page elements and animated gifs to add impact to pages. If you wish to stop them from playing for accessibility purposes or for personal preference then please see the guidance below. Please note that browsers sometimes change how they operate, so please refer to your browser help files to find their latest information.
How do I turn off animations?

Chrome

Chrome users will need to use browser extensions. Animation Policy from Google will help you set your own preferences.

Microsoft Edge

There is currently no way to disable animations within Microsoft Edge. Users of Edge (Chromium) browser can install the Chrome extensions above and use them.

Internet Explorer

To stop animations on a single page you can just press the 'Esc' key. This will stop the animation on that page. If you wish to restart the animations you need to refresh the page. To permanently disable the playing of animated GIF images, open Internet Options > Advanced tab. Under the Multimedia section, uncheck the Play animations in webpage check-box, click Apply and Exit and then restart your computer.

Firefox

Type about:config in Firefox address bar and hit Enter to open Settings. Search for the image.animation_mode flag and change its value from Normal to None. Once you restart Firefox this will disable animations.

Level 6/Level 7, 20 credit course.

Suitable for Counsellors, Psychotherapists, Psychologists, Nurses, Mental Health Nurses and other Mental Health workers. Module content includes:

Introduction to CBT as an approach for working with people
Development of critical understanding, key concepts, clinical frameworks and the current evidence base for CBT
Skills practice sessions, develop competence to transfer skills into area of practice
Critically reflect and evaluate relevance and impact

entry requirements

These modules are designed for practitioners working with health and social care clients. For admission to the module you will usually be required to provide evidence of the successful completion of 120 credits (or equivalent) at the appropriate level in a relevant area / discipline:

120 credits at level 5 (Dip HE) for level 6 (degree) study
120 credits at level 6 (BScH/BAH) for level 7 (masters) study

assessment

Students will be assessed against level 6 or level 7 academic criteria on a portfolio of evidence to include:

Level 6 - Written assignment consisting of critical reflective case study of the application of CBT skills in practice.
Level 7 – Written assignment consisting of a critical assessment of the evidence for CBT with the clients main problem (1000 words) and a reflective critical case study of the use of CBT skills with a client/service user (2000 words)
