The N-MP module is 40 credits offered at Level 7 (Masters).

The programme will cover the key areas of competency required by the HCPC and set out in the Royal Pharmaceutical Society document (RPS 2021) A Competency Framework for all Prescribers. By the end of the programme the student must be able to evidence and/or demonstrate competency in the following areas:

  1. Assess the patient
  2. Identify evidence-based treatment options available for clinical decision
  3. Present options and reach a shared decision
  4. Prescribe
  5. Provide information
  6. Monitor and review
  7. Prescribe safely
  8. Prescribe professionally
  9. Improve prescribing practice
  10. Prescribe as part of a team

The length of study is six months with 26 days of taught sessions and 12 days (90 hours) in practice.

Delivered via a blended approach that includes online teaching and learning, digital learning and on campus sessions. We therefore require you to have access and the ability to MS Teams.
