An important aim is for you to develop your interpersonal capacities and skills and for you to gain theoretical knowledge of people's emotional/mental health and wellbeing in relation to being service users/patients within health and social care systems and you will relate this understanding to your particular area of practice. The philosophy is one of developing your levels of self-awareness, capacity to work with emotion, being able to tolerate and be therapeutic interpersonally with people in distress and/or pain, or when living with lifelong or life limiting conditions.
