TEACHING AND LEARNING

This course is delivered full and part-time. The full-time course is taught over two days per week and if started in September takes twelve months to complete. If you choose to start in January, the course will take eighteen months due to the summer break.

The course requires a great deal of independent learning and study. The course is approximately equivalent to a working week requiring approximately 38 hours study in total, including contact time. However this is only a rough guide and will vary according to the academic workload and the students preferred work mode.

Part-time the course is taught one day per week over a two year period. There is some flexibility with part-time delivery and may have the option to expand or shorten your studies in particular circumstances.

The teaching methods used are diverse and include lectures, seminars, tutorials, workshops, practical exercises and online learning materials. Some modules adopt a blended learning approach using online materials and face-to-face delivery.

The UK Centre for Events Management has been educating event professionals for more than 21 years. Our specialist team draws together academics and events professionals who have designed and developed cutting-edge courses that are informed by industry and research.

The Centre and staff are members of many key professional associations in the events related fields and are engaged in research and consultancy work, publishing their findings in textbooks and journals of international standing.

You will also be given the opportunity to attend guest lectures and encouraged, where possible, to take up a range of volunteer opportunities to provide you with additional experience and strong industry contacts. Students in the past have volunteered at the IIFA awards, the Grand National and more locally the Bradford Film Festival.
