The lecture will present Future Architects Front, a grassroots organisation of architectural workers and students. FAF campaigns to end the exploitative practices that have come to define the world of architecture. They work both within and without existing institutions, collaborating with unions and collectives, acting as the loud abrasive voice of those at the bottom of the professional hierarchy.
These events of talks, debates and demonstrations provide a rich platform of opportunities for students and staff, together with external audience, to engage with the expanding scope of critical research and creative practice traversing fields of Architecture, Landscape, Interior and Urban Design.
Charlie Edmonds is a graduate of the University of Cambridge and a systems designer at CIVIC SQUARE. His work at FAF explores the future of architectural labour and campaigns against the built environment's existing structures of inequity and exploitation.
