Carnegie School of Education are pleased to present the Story Makers international conference for teachers, artist educators, researchers and policy makers, who are looking to re-wild education to empower learners to build positive hopeful futures together. This conference is organised in collaboration with the OECD Future of Education and Skills 2030 project.
The world is changing, the Story Makers international conference asks the following questions:
- What knowledge, skills, attitudes, and values will today’s students need to thrive and shape their worlds?
- How can schools develop these knowledge, skills, attitudes, and values effectively?
Drawing from national and international research with teachers and artist educators we will share:
- A range of practice-based workshops which use creative arts and drama pedagogies. Which activate pupil wellbeing with a focus on on inquiry-based learning, democratic thinking, oracy and socio-emotional literacy
- Whole school flexible curriculum and assessment models
- Globally informed teaching practices and policy perspectives
Story Makers Company was established in 2017 by academics, teachers and artists concerned with the lack of creative opportunities for young people inside and outside school, particularly those from socially underrepresented and economically disadvantaged communities.
They believe in empowering learners, teachers and communities through research informed creative arts pedagogy.
