Leeds Beckett University - City Campus,
Woodhouse Lane,
LS1 3HE
Join Dr Peter Mills to discuss the importance of the park to the city's own self-image, and the role the concerts played in the city's cultural reinvention in the late 20th century.
Following the park’s timeline reveals much about the changing nature of musical staging and performance, alongside the city's willingness and capacity to stage such events. This Cultural Conversation will reflect on the future of huge events in the park, post pandemic, as both the music industry and the city of Leeds rapidly change.
This event is part of the Leeds Cultural Conversations series organised by the Centre for Culture and Humanities at Leeds Beckett University.
