Dr Helen Dampier and Dr Rebecca Gill reflected on the challenges they have faced in curating an exhibition on Emily Hobhouse's life and legacy in contemporary South Africa. They considered their attempts to grapple with Hobhouse's place in the racial politics of South Africa at a highly charged moment in the politics of commemoration.
