Voyage: An Interdisciplinary Journey of Mental Health
Join us at the Leeds School of Arts for a unique multidisciplinary performance event focused on mental health, in aid of 'Womens Counselling and Therapy Service'.

Healing is not linear.

Healing travels in cycles.

But there is always someone to help.

Voyage is a performance event that dissects experiences with mental ill health through an interdisciplanary lens. Join us on a journey of healing, told through the differing perspectives of creatives with diverse backgrounds, identities and creative practices.

The evening will be an experience of dance, music, film and poetry, and a discussion with some of Leeds' most important third-sector organisations.

All profits will go towards supporting 'Women's Counselling and Therapy Service' [WCTS]; the charity has recently celebrated it's 40th year of providing free counselling and therapy support to disadvantaged or marginalised women and girls facing complex health and social situations in the Leeds area. The charity supports them to recover from experiences of abuse, violence, neglect, trauma and mental ill health.

WCTS have a mission to increase general awareness of mental health and work to reduce stigma and shape national strategies to improve women's lives both here and across the UK. The charity provided one-on-one services to over 550 women last year alone, supporting women to heal and find their way back to healthy and fulfilled lives; they have worked tirelessly to provide services to harder to reach groups.

Supported by Leeds Beckett University's School of Arts and The Lord Mayor's Charity Appeal.

Prior to the event, a networking social will take place in the Leeds School of Arts cafe, with musical guests and a guest speaker from WCTS.

After the event, we invite everyone to network back in the Leeds School of Arts cafe with drinks [hot or cold] and create connections that can continue to support the women in Leeds for years to come.

Whether you're looking for guidance, to learn more, or enjoy a night of interdisciplanary entertainment, this event is for you. Let's embark on this journey together using the bridge between wellbeing and art to support women in need.
