The Sustainability Team want to hear what you have to say about the state of the world we live in and your ideas on how to improve it. The aim is to promote peer-to-peer leaning, stimulate interdisciplinary learning and raise the profile of sustainability within the university.

A.

Yes. You don’t have to produce new work to present. Presentations can be on work completed, in progress or on a planned dissertation research title. This is an opportunity to develop research/dissertation titles, gain ideas on how to progress it and get helpful contacts through networking which could open some doors once you graduate.

A.

  • Tickets will be released during Freshers Week!
  • Ticket fee: £5. All money raised will be donated to Rainbow Junk-tion in Hyde Park who use unwanted food to feed those in need in the area

You can either, present a poster during a dedicated 1hr slot on the day with a number of other students or do your own presentation to a room at a time slot to be determined.

Simply send a one page brief to sustainability@leedsbeckett.ac.uk giving the title of your presentation, school & course, your contact details, tell us if it is a poster or presentation and explain how your presentation:

  • Relates to the three pillars of sustainability (social, economics, environment)
  • Will progress one or all of these pillars
  • Can be applied in the ‘real world’ for positive change

Presentations to a room should be 30 minutes with a further 10 minutes for questions and answers.

A.

Poetry, research on energy efficiency, mental health issues or impacts of climate change in third world countries. Videos, literature, pictures and drama can all be used, and you can frame it in an historical, present day or future context. It doesn’t have to be a standard presentation.
