#WECAN: Open Space Leadership – How SMEs can overcome challenges
#WECAN (Women Empowered through Coaching and Networking) project aims to enhance the resilience and growth of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) by building the leadership skills, capabilities and opportunities of women in the Leeds City Region.

In this session we will discuss why leadership is not about 'style' and other challenges SME leaders face and how to meet them.

In this session you will:

  • Why leadership is not about ‘style’
  • The challenges SME leaders need to meet and the ways they can do it
  • Ways to create open space in your business to build the capacity of the business to meet the challenges

Speaker

The session will be led by #WECAN Delivery Lead, Kenny Greenough. Kenny is a Senior Lecturer at Edge Hill University where he has worked since 2008. Kenny holds Senior Fellowship status of the Higher Education Academy and is a University Fellow for Teaching and Learning. Kenny has coached within professional level sport and holds a prestigious internationally recognised coaching qualification. His approach is always underpinned in his professional engagement with the real-world coaching industry.

#WECAN is a three year £1.7 million project part funded by the European Social Fund. Led by Leeds Beckett University and working with a network of partners including Edge Hill University and Social Enterprise Yorkshire and Humber, the project aims to support the next generation of women leaders in the Leeds City Region by building their leadership skills, capabilities and opportunities.
